Good times. Good people. Lots of fun.
In my recent posts about being home, I hope it came across how much I love the people and the city. During a big friends weekend reunion extravaganza, my friend Bill said it best.
“It’s not about coming back to Columbus. It’s about this crew and having everyone together.”
He is right of course. Columbus would not be the same without my friends. But I love the city too! I have written about the amazing food and some of my favorite places. I could have written at least 10 more posts. But that takes a lot of time, which I have not had much of during this visit.
Luckily, my friends were as wonderful as always and put me up, so I did not have to look for cheap hotels during my visit.
So here is my photo essay to round up my last day in C-bus.
Ham Pickles
This may seem weird to you, but ham pickles are the best. Special thanks to Adam for making them for us for football Saturday.
Adriatico’s Pizza w/ Extra Sauce
Special thanks to Bill for the reminder of the awesomeness. A campus favorite. The “Buckeye” size is probably supposed to feed an army. It only took 7 of us to destroy this one.
Darts & Beers at Char Bar
A Columbus reunion would not be complete without a visit to Char Bar.
Last Dinners Out
This was my first time at the new Milestone 229. Delicious! And a nice view right on the river.
Three Little Pigs
Pulled pork, Bacon, Caramelized pork belly = Happiness
Best Chocolate Cake Ever!
4 of us split this. I love that it came with a jug of milk.
Plank’s Pizza
Wonderful Bike Rides
Running in My ‘Hood
I did not see everyone I had hoped to see.
I did not spend as much time as I would have liked with the people I did see.
But that is life. Time is short. We do what we can.

I’m going to have to jump on board the ham pickles train here too. I can’t even imagine the taste, but now I’ve got to try one. Are they something unique to the Columbus area? I’ve never heard of them before.
Looking forward to the South American journey posts. Safe travels!

It was so wonderful. The one thing you cannot find in Latin America is moist, chocolate cake or brownies. I will keep this memory with me as I continue my travels

Wow.. you are already leaving? I thought you were staying for a while? That ham/pickles app looks very weird, but I would probably end up liking it because it has pickles. Great photos!
