For today’s Foto of the Week, I want to share some of the aerial photos I have gotten in Santiago.
From Antilen Swimming Pool
My first day in Santiago, Tim and I went to find the public pool he had heard about. These photos were taken from the Antilen pool at the top of the hill at the Parque Metropolitano.
It was a smoggy day in Santiago. I didn’t even realize there were mountains in the frame until Tim pointed out the subtle outline.
This was actually the only smoggy day I experienced in Santiago.
It’s really not that bad in the Summer.
From San Cristóbal Hill
From a Blogger Meetup
Rob from South America ME was nice enough to organize a meetup with several bloggers who live in Santiago. It was a great time, and he picked a beautiful setting. He also snapped this great photo for me.
I love that there are so many places to get a great view of Santiago!
I love the picture from San Cristóbal!

Thanks! It surprised me what great views you can get without having to climb too far up or go outside the center of the city.

I have the same photo from San Cristobal like this one, from the same place 😀 And all my 3 days now in Santiago were smoggy!

I always enjoy seeing a photo just like one I took on someone else’s website. Brings back good memories
That sucks about the smog. Maybe I just got lucky.

Thank you! I always try to seek out good spots for aerial photos. Luckily, in Santiago, it is pretty easy.

I was pleasantly surprised by Santiago. I hadn’t heard many good things about it, but I really enjoyed it. It also didn’t hurt to meet up with some great people while I was there.

You’re lucky that you didn’t get too many smoggy days, I hate when the view is blocked when I go up there with people….but it does happen a lot unfortunately because Santiago’s in a valley!

My smog luck in Santiago was nice since I had bad luck in the south with Torres del Paine.
Do you guys actually get smog alerts sometimes? Do you ever wear masks on bad days?

Your lamp photo turned out really well! It sucks when smog ruins our pictures… and air… I guess haha

I don’t like it when people ruin my pictures either

wow the view of Santiago is fabulous…I want to visit there when i have time…thanks for sharing your beautiful pictures….
These are nice photos of the city, looks like such a luring and electric city. I especially like the last two (you look beautiful with that background!). And at least you got one photo of a smoggy day, it sucks that that’s a factor- but that’s probably what many/most travelers experience.

I really like the photo of me too. Rob did a nice job taking it AND organizing our get-together at a place with such a great view
I hear the smog is not that bad in summer because they get some breeze, so that would definitely be the time to visit.

Nice photo of you Steph. You clean up really well. Best of luck with the B.A. guide.
I have realized it is important to have one dress and a pair of dangly earrings in my backpack… just in case 😉

An intriguing discussion is definitely worth comment.
I think that you should write more on this issue, it might not be a taboo matter but usually people do not speak about
such issues. To the next! Many thanks!!
