As I said in my big announcement last week, one of the great things to come out of my 20 months of travel in Latin America is discovering this awesome community of travel bloggers.
That community has officially turned me into a travel geek.
(Two years ago, I would have made fun of someone for what I am about to say.)
I have the honor (and fun) of being a judge for The Blogger Relay.

When I found out the prizes, I considered turning down the opportunity to be a judge because the prizes are awesome!
But I’m going to take one for the team and let the rest of you go for the prizes.
What is the Blogger Relay?
The lowcostholidays.com Blogger Relay is asking the travel community to share their medal worthy travel memories and pass on the travel relay baton to celebrate a busy summer of sport.
How to Enter
1. Write It
Blog about your top three medal worthy travel memories. There are five Team Captains kick-starting the Blogger Relay at the beginning of August.
Join their chains or start your own team!
2. Pass the Travel Baton
Nominate another travel Blogger to continue the Blogger Relay chain.
3. Share It
Email a link to your blog post to win@lowcostholidays.com with your name, e-mail address and phone number, and share it on Twitter using #BloggerRelay and mention @lowcostholidays.
4. Win It
Each Blogger Relay post will be judged by top travel bloggers Melvin at Travel Dudes, Becky from Global Grasshopper and Yours Truly.
The Team with the longest chain will also ALL win a mini travel prize!
Entries will be accepted from July 30th to October 1st, 2012.

Google Hangout – Opening Ceremony
The geekiest part about this is that The Travel Chica (yes, that is now how I refer to myself and am considering changing my name to a symbol) and the other judges filmed a Google Hangout which you can watch below.
