Bend
With long days snowboarding at Mt Bachelor, I didn’t get to see a lot of Bend. But I was impressed by what I did see.
Bend is small, cute, and surrounded by gorgeous landscapes. It has a laidback vibe, and people seem down-to-earth and friendly.
The first evening in town, we stumbled upon a free outdoor concert.
Good music, good food, good beer, and a pretty view.
Apparently, this happens a lot in the Spring.
I am also a coffee fiend and love trying the local roasters when I visit new cities. In addition to being my favorite foodie city, Portland is also my favorite coffee city, and that quality extends three hours away to Bend.
It was great to start the morning by picking up a locally roasted coffee on the way to the mountain and then grab another as a pick-me-up after returning from an exhausting day of snowboarding.
Even though I was tired at the end of the day, it was a must to hit up the town in the evenings… for as long as I could keep my eyes open.
I already had all of the snowboarding gear I need, but I did add a couple of new pieces to my packing list for this trip. I’m learning to combine comfort, functionality, and a little bit of personal style. My prAna leggings did double-duty as something casual to wear into town for my morning coffee and also as a base layer under my snowboarding pants. I knew we would be going to see a show at the historic Tower Theatre, so I brought my new vinyasa hoodie (pictured below) for a comfy-yet-still-put-in-some-effort look.
Perhaps my favorite spot in Bend is Crows Feet Commons. Coffee, bikes, skis, snowboards, beer, cool people.
The one thing I didn’t have enough time to do is properly explore the breweries. There are a handful right in town, and you know how much I love the beer in Oregon.
Have you been to Bend? Any tips to share for my next trip?
Disclosure: I was provided prAna clothing to review on this trip, however, all opinions are my own.

Thanks, Arti! It’s hard to really know a place in a few days, but I’ve heard so many good things and they all seemed to be true.

Oregon DOES NOT get enough credit. I’m so glad to see it on a travel blog…though you barely glanced over the beer. And Bend beer is significantly better than Portland beer. Portland just gets the credit cuz it’s the big city.

I LOVE Oregon! And the beer was pretty good in Bend… I simply didn’t have enough time to try a lot of beer in Bend (although I did get a few).

Bend is definitely on the rise! I’m from Eugene (a few hours west) and growing up I hardly ever heard of people going there. Now, it’s all the rage. Beautiful scenery in all directions.
