Since I have called Argentina my home for approximately 6 months (and counting) of my travel sabbatical, I am excited to be featured on About.com Argentina.
I have really enjoyed sharing my travel experiences and photography on The Travel Chica.
Over the past couple months, I have also had the pleasure of writing for a few other sites:
- Food in Bogota for The Travel Belles
- How to Eat Like a Porteno for Gecko’s Adventures
- Buenos Aires Day Trips for Indie Travel Podcast
About.com is my latest.
And I am looking forward to more writing opportunities.

A big congratulations goes out to you Stephanie :)! This is really great exposure for you.
Thank you for letting me know that About.com has a page about Argentina travel. I also discovered they have one for South America in general and one for Australia too. So I promptly signed up for the newsletters of all three. They’ll become a great resource for my travel plans going into the future.
You just never know. This travel writing just may turn out to be a long term career for you.
I’ve been watching out for your city on the weather reports on TV here. It’s been getting warmer there. We’ve got a 30 degree day (86 degrees fahrenheit) today here with storms for the next few days.
I wish you well in Buenos Aires for the coming summer:).

They also have a section on About.com for Spanish. I get a word-a-day in my RSS feed.
I’m actually going to start heading south as the weather warms up, so my summer here will be a bit cold

Thank you so much for letting me know about the Spanish page. I’ve signed up for it and it’s full of great content.
As for heading south for the summer, I think it’s a great idea. I can already guess we’re you’re going but I won’t say for fear of creating a spoiler alert inadvertently. It’s one of the great things about South America. You’ve got a variety of climates.
Here in Australia in summer you’ve really only got two. Hot and hotter. And the only options to head south are Tasmania, which doesn’t help when it’s stifling hot in the middle of February or Antarctica which is overkill.
Speaking of Antarctica, Qantas have been known to occasionally do scenic flights to Antarctica flying out of Sydney where they fly south over Antarctica for about an hour or so while they serve you food and wine and then fly you back. They’re pricey at about $3,000 but they do exist. And when I say occasionally I mean they fly about once every two to three years and are always quickly booked out.
