This is a simple photo, but for some reason, I was really drawn to this building.
I was in Chacarita on a rooftop terrace enjoying a birthday party. Chacarita is a quiet, residential neighborhood. This building across the street stood out because it was the only tall building around. The white exterior contrasted nicely with the clear blue sky.
I took a lot of photos from different angles changing up the composition.
And then the sun started to go down . . .
And the building changed its color.
I really like how the photo of the building near sundown came out. It has this beautiful rusted color to it that reminds me a lot of late summer here in Australia when the sun reflects off the buildings in the CBD in Melbourne. You get this beautiful montage of the skyline reflected in the buildings with a brilliant sunset in the background if the weather is hot and the skies are clear.
Sounds beautiful!
Everyone at the birthday party must have been wondering why I was taking so many pictures of a plain white building.

That is a really nice picture. I have always loved the sunsets. I saw a really nice view a couple of days ago with the full moon being out during the day.
Very neat effect. Must be nice views from the only tall building around, especially if the sunset is hitting it.

I hadn’t thought about that, but you’re right! Maybe I should go over and ring some bells to see if anyone will let me up for a photo shoot

Cool series. Almost looks like the electrical cables are holding up the building.

As you know, it is difficult to deal with the electrical cables that are strung everywhere in Latin America. You have to somehow make them fit into the photo.

I’m often surprised by the results of little point-and-shoots. They can be very good.

So far I am happy with the purchase. So much easier than lugging a D-SLR everywhere. I still need to practice with it more and learn what it can do.

lovely colours
the cables makes it look like the building has been tied to the ground to stop it floating away!

I didn’t even notice that about the cables, but you’re right!

I realised on my recent rip that the time of day can completely change a photograph. In this case, the colour is better in the second I think.

Interesting to see the contrast. I really like the angle in the first photo.

Funny you mention that. I have been told that angles are “my thing.”

What a cool building, amazing the colour change brought on by the sunset.

There are few places I’d rather be right now than BA – love how the building changes colours! That’s just cool

From which angle did you take the first photo? I love it
I was on top of a shorter building. So what you see on the left is the wall of the building next door. Just a slight tilt of the camera makes the difference.
