While everyone was still speculating about what would happen in Torres del Paine National Park, I took a walk by the water to clear my head.
Puerto Natales is the capital of one of the provinces in the Magallanes region of Chile.
I love port cities.
Lots of photo opportunities with the old, colorful boats. Some port cities can be grimy and depressing, but not this one. It is clean, easy to get around, and offers a surprising variety of good restaurants.
This photo is all about color.
The boats. The water. And even a rainbow.

Travel Tip: I am excited to explore Chile because it is a country that seems to have it all: coastlines and beaches, rivers and lakes, forests, mountains, volcanoes, and desert landscapes. If you are looking for a diverse area to travel, check out flights to Tenerife, the largest of the Canary Islands.
Beautiful! I remember Natales being a colourful place – wish we had spent more time there

I should have walked around the town more, since I had several days of sitting around waiting for news from the park.

This is definitely the rainbow season, as some blogs I read also had rainbows in sight, and I saw one too while driving on the high way (>.< I wish I could have taken a photo of that). I like how the one in your photo looks like its coming out of the boat XDD

A most beautiful picture. The most rainbows I’ve ever seen was a little over 20 yrs ago in Kuaii, Hawaii. I was in awe chasing all the rainbows & the colors of the island were so brilliant. It’s interesting you made the comment you wished you had walked around the town more… I’ve said that about some special places I’ve traveled to as well. I’ll have to make a list of my favorites of your pictures & next time you are back in the states you can give me a collage for Christmas, Birthday etc you missed Ha!Ha! : ~) Love Mom
Still hope to see Hawaii one day. Bet it wasn’t as touristy and expensive back then.
Start making your list. I won’t have any money to buy presents, so photos is all people are getting

I have heard Ushuaia is beautiful. Just a little too expensive and far for me this time. Another reason to come back to this part of the world
