Tim and I failed in our attempt to visit the Reserve in Curiñaco.
We were told it is one of the most beautiful parks in the area.
Don’t go on a Monday.
They are closed on Mondays, but it seems this is new because nobody in town knew this.
Although it is only about 50 minutes away from the center of Valdivia by bus, this is a very rural and somewhat remote area. The next bus would not come for 3.5 hours.
So we decided to wander.
And we found a beautiful, nearly-deserted beach.
In fact, there is beautiful deserted beach along the main road for several kilometers.

That is a really cool looking beach! Looks like that patch of waves go straight to the middle of the ocean. That’s surely a first to me!

There were other beach areas we found nearby, and the waves were crazy! There was a family picnicking on the beach. They had a rope that the kids were attached to when they went swimming because the current was so strong.

I guess that is one of the best things when travelling; being able to find a beautiful place that is totally not in your plan.
