I finally made it to the Reserva Ecológica (ecological reserve) Costanera Sur in with Biking Buenos Aires.
This was on my to-do list the entire time I lived in Buenos Aires last year. It is just one of those places that is not super-easy to get to, and it will take up an entire day to get there, walk around, and then get home.
Much better en bici!
I had the opportunity to review a tour with Biking Buenos Aires for the guide book I am writing. They offer a variety of tours, which offer a good mix of the mainstream tourist sites with some great off-the-beaten path spots.
I specifically chose the Heart of the City Tour because it included the Reserva Ecológica and a stop for lunch at a parrilla on the Costanera Sur, which is legendary for great food trucks (these are more like permanently parked food trucks).
Lucky me to find a bike tour with this lesser-visited spot.
Reserva Ecológica Costanera Sur
The Reserva Ecológica definitely met my expectations.
A beautiful, quiet bit of nature just next to downtown.
And the parrilla we went to was everything I hoped it would be.
Bondiola at Parrilla Mi Sueño
This specific tour also covers San Telmo, La Boca, Puerto Madero, and Plaza de Mayo. Even though I have been to these places before, I still learned more about the history, culture, and current politics and social situation.
If you are like me and enjoy touring a city on bike, I highly recommend Biking Buenos Aires. Good equipment, great guides, creative tour itineraries, and professional owners.

It’s actually bondiola. I have discovered it can be just as good as the steak in BA.

That bondiola had me drooling. I just ate but I’m hungry again. Thank you for that.

I cannot edit food photos or work on food posts when I’m hungry. It’s torturous.

Wonderful, this is the best and handiest way to get away from hustle and bustle of modern life. I always find parks very helpful for this, but an ecological reserve in the middle of the town is fantastic!
