One of the tips I put in my Buenos Aires City Guide is to always keep an eye on the ground when you’re out walking. (Read this post if you want to know why.)
But it can be really difficult to do that with all of the magnificent architectural details to catch your attention.
Grandeur of Buenos Aires: The Details
Plan a trip and learn more about Buenos Aires!
I am highlighting Buenos Aires in celebration of the release of my Buenos Aires City Guide published by Indie Travel Media. I put a lot into this project, and I am proud of the end product. I love this city, and I want anyone who visits to use this guide to create a unique experience and enjoy the best of Buenos Aires.

I enjoyed these details of architecture both in Argentina and in the States (i.e: NYC and Boston), so when I came back and told people about it, I was told I need to travel to Europe too, to see more of that. Have you ever been to Europe?

I have been to London, Paris, Italy, and Spain, so I have seen the similarities in architecture. It is jut not something most people expect in South America.

Nice shots of a fun city…I really liked the balcony one with the three drapes. Architecture is my favourite part about cities. I’d happily wander the streets all day without ever going inside a cafe or museum!

That’s my favorite too. Made me wonder about what it looks like inside and who lives there.

We are in France right now and the details look very similar – BsAs is indeed opulent. Like in France, I love how that classic, traditional grandeur exists right next to the hip and modern.

I miss it! It was so funny, it took me months to realize how tall/pretty my first apartment building was. It never occurred to me to look all the way up when exiting or entering my own building!
Stephanie - The Travel Chica says
You do get used to it in a way once you have a routine and get busy. I had to remind myself to pay attention when I was doing my usual activities like walking to the grocery store or wine shop.

A MUST for anyone coming to Buenos Aires. This is the pride of the city and a remarkable testament to the history of the country. Well-organized, formal tours of Teatro Colon give tourists an opportunity to see a fabulous Belle Epoque building, beautifully restored to its full splendor. There are very few “cultural palaces” this grand still extant anywhere in the world. The tour includes a look at the lobby, loge, and reception areas of the theater, as well as the main auditorium. Tours are offered in several languages, including English, and give an overview of the architecture and history of the building, with a few insights into the social/cultural context that shaped the theater’s construction. What you won’t see are the backstage areas, workshops, etc.– the tour focuses exclusively on the grand, public spaces

I love the way you spread the love for Argentina! Buenos Aires is a great city =) If you head to Caballito neighbour sometime just let me know!
Stephanie - The Travel Chica says
I did visit Caballito a couple of times for book research, and I had a friend who lived there and loved it.

I really love the second photo! BA looks beautiful.
Now that I’ve relocated back to Toronto from Berlin, I miss such detailing found in European architecture. Toronto’s full of tall glass skyscrapers, not really romantic or so inspiring …
Stephanie - The Travel Chica says
Just remind yourself that Toronto has a different kind of beauty
Living back in Columbus now, I miss the detailing as well, however, I have noticed interesting architectural details since I returned. Things that were here all along, but I never noticed before.

Wow. These details are beautiful, especially the one of the two women holding up part of the building. Reminds me of some of the Art Nouveau architectural details of Prague. Beautiful.
I haven’t been to Argentina yet, but considering that I go to Brazil every year, I know I will make it there soon. Looking forward to it more after this post! And I will use your city guide!

Beautiful pictures! I am obsessed with the architecture in Buenos Aires – especially the incredible details on the buildings and not just on the grand buildings but often in the most random of places. I can walk down the same street 10 times and notice some new detail every day.
