Yep, that’s right. I finally left Ohio!
It was only a long weekend, but it was a much-needed break from work and all about having fun with the girls.
I arrived several hours before my friends, so I could do a little exploring on my own.
And by EXPLORE, I mean EAT.
What does breakfast in Nashville look like?
A layer of sweet potato pancakes – yes, they are as delicious as they sound.
Spread a layer of fried apples.
Layer on a mound of slow-roasted pulled pork.
Top it with a fried egg.
And if that’s not enough for you, there is a side of home fries.
Nashville native Kristin Luna made the excellent recommendation of Puckett’s Grocery. I wasn’t even that hungry when I arrived, but I figured it would be wrong NOT to order one of their signature platters.
Beer for breakfast
Oh, yes, breakfast in Nashville gets better. I wandered down to Broadway in the late morning and discovered that bars were already open. Bands were even starting to warm up.
This is my kinda town.
So I sat down and enjoyed a beer, chatting with the bartender and getting myself used to hearing the southern twang.

This type of breakfast like beer, sounds interesting. “

Sounds awesome and just like my kind of place! I’ve been wanting to visit Nashville for a while and hope to make it there later this year.

Beer and pork for breakfast – now that my kind of meal. Though, I’ll have to eat the pork before drinking the beer. But I will certainly have a smile on my face for the rest of the day.

That looks amazing!!! These days, I try to juice during the day, eating really clean in the morning — since I eat so much at night, ugh. But in Costa Rica, we very often had beer for breakfast. Refreshing!

Beer for breakfast seems to work well in any laid-back setting with an ocean or a lake.
