I lived in Buenos Aires for a while before I got an aerial view of the city.
You really do not get a feel for just how big this city is until you see how far it stretches to the horizon.
I was lucky enough to meet expats Bruce and then later Annie and Jimmy who let me take photographs of their amazing views at sunset.
From Palermo
You can see the train tracks that divide Palermo Soho and Palermo Hollywood.
From Downtown
You can see the obelisk in this shot.

A very beautiful city and a huge one. I agree that you can never fully appreciate a city if you haven’t seen it from above.

I can only say San Francisco as my favorite big city for sunset because other places I lived in before are not that “big” XDD
But Parnell District in Auckland, New Zealand, has amazing sunset that shines through the trees in Rose Garden like golden flames coming through from heaven. It was the best and my last memory of New Zealand =)

These are beautiful views! I knew Buenos Aires was a large city, but there’s nothing like seeing it from above to confirm that. Thanks for sharing these, I especially like the feel of the atmosphere/colours of the first photo

I have learned that a cloudy sky isn’t always a bad thing. I like that one too, especially with the train tracks cutting through.

Beautiful photos. I especially like the almost fisheye one. Quito from the top of the tramway was pretty cool too.
The Travel Chica says
Yes, Quito was a pretty nice view. Problem was I didn’t get the aerial view for sunsets because I didn’t feel safe being out alone after dark, especially with my D-SLR.

The second last photo is definitely my favorite, although I’m somewhat intrigued by the giant dog head in the fifth one.
It looks like a fun place to be though. I can see why you were drawn back here.

Probably a good idea. I ran into two different groups at the Secret Garden where I stayed who had been robbed on the streets of the old city in Quito after dark.

I got robbed my first day in Quito, and at least half of the students in my Spanish class were pickpocketed or robbed. It’s a shame because it’s a beautiful city with great people.

Honestly My favorite sunsets were in Bethlehem, Israel or St. Petersburg, Russia. Although watching sunsets is one of my top 5 favorite things to do when I travel so its hard for me to really choose.
The Travel Chica says
It is hard to choose. There were amazing sunsets in Antigua, Guatemala and at the beach in Nicaragua and El Salvador.

I headed up a mountain in Cardiff to do some filming for this project a few months ago, and it wasn’t until I reached the highest point, that I noticed how truly huge and extensive the city was. Really something to behold.

I love your pictures, so full of colour and activity. I have to say, of the cities i have been to, Rome is up there, as well as Venice. Perth is a nice city, more for the areas around it than the city itself. I love the layout of your site and how you use it. It is something i am trying to achieve with mine. This is good inspiration for me
