We are about to finish out 2010 and begin a new year. I’ve never been one to get nostalgic about the past year and make resolutions for the coming year, but 2010 has been and 2011 will be quite different for me. I’ve made some big decisions to completely change my lifestyle and set out on an adventure to live one of my dreams, and that journey will continue for much of next year. I have been gathering ideas for how to make The Travel Chica Site more interesting and more useful and make it easier to keep in touch with all of you.
New Social Media
You can now follow and share The Travel Chica on Twitter, where you will get updates not only when there are new posts but also receive messages about my day-to-day activities and random musings.
You can also “friend” The Travel Chica on Facebook where I hope to attract new followers who share similar interests.
New Look and New Features
Updated Home page and About page – I’ve enhanced the design, as well as added more information.
Updated Gear page – I have added some more details, as well as included links for purchasing some of the gear.
New Map page – I have added a map of my planned route through Latin America.
Updated Travel Tips pages
New features to look forward to in 2011…
Budget plan and status update – A lot of people ask me what my budget is and how much things are actually costing along the way. I will share my original plan as well as provide an update on what I’ve actually spent. We’ll see if I can make my budget last for a year and when I’m going to have to start living on just rice and beans.
Map page – I will start adding my actual path through Latin America to the map as I go.
Photography page – Automated way to purchase prints.
I appreciate all of the feedback you’ve provided to help make the site better. If you have other ideas for what you would like to see on The Travel Chica site, please let me know.
