During my 20-month travel sabbatical in Latin America, I got stuck in Buenos Aires.
After spending time in Central America, Ecuador, and Colombia, I landed in Buenos Aires a bit tired of lugging around my backpack and remembering a short flirtation with the city the previous year.
I visited the city for the first time during a short vacation over Christmas the year before I quit my job to travel. I remember telling my friend, “I would love to live here.”
Why not make that dream happen?
I spent over half a year exploring Buenos Aires, learning the history, admiring the architecture, enjoying the passion and creativity of the porteños, understanding the politics, and of course, indulging in the world-famous wine and steak.
I fell deeper in love with the city every day.
I wrote about my experiences and shared my photographs on this website with the goal of showing people the real Buenos Aires, the good and the bad, and what makes this city and its people so special and unique.
Following that desire led to an even bigger opportunity.
My Buenos Aires City Guide was published by Indie Travel Media in February of 2013.
Writing this book has given me the opportunity to learn and share so much more about the city I call my second home and reach a much larger audience of travelers.
Why is this book the right travel guide for you?
I wrote the book with all types of travelers in mind.
- Are you a budget backpacker, luxury traveler, or something in between?
- Are you an independent traveler who likes to plan and do everything on your own? Or do you like to have a mixture of guided experiences and time to spend exploring on your own?
- What excites you about a new city? Art, music, dance? Local sports? Trying local foods and drinks? Shopping and nightlife? Famous sites? Learning the history? Maybe all of these.
- Do you only have a few days, a week, or are you planning an extended stay?
The information and tips in this book will meet all of these needs.
